Participating in sports is a major factor in the development of most American children. They are involved in organized out-of-school sports, competitive school sports and participate in at least one school or community-based athletic program.

Research has shown that sports helps psychologically by reducing anxiety, stress and depression and enhances self-esteem. It provides character building skills like social interaction, cooperation, friendship, self-discipline, trust, leadership and helps them to think critically and solve problems. Sports also helps in academic achievement by lower school dropout.

Some of the sports offered in middle schools.

Fall sports include:

Boys’ Soccer, Girls’ Soccer, Girls’ Field Hockey, and Cross Country, Flag Football, Co-ed Golf

Winter sports include:

Boys’ Basketball, Girls’ Basketball, Wrestling, Cheerleading, Swimming

Spring sports include:

Boys’ Baseball, Girls’ Softball, and Track and Field, Lacrosse, Tennis, Badminton
